Return Trip to Idaho for Nebraska

Nebraska has been to Meridian, Idaho twice this season to see class of 2016 point guard Destiny Slocum of Mountain View HS. Managing Editor, Chris Hansen, raved about Slocum's play at the Check Me Out Showcase last fall. She's currently No. 14 in the ELITE 25. — Brandon Clay

Wertz Adds An Offer

Class of 2015 guard Frankie Wurtz of Kimberly, Wisc., recently picked up a scholarship offer from Wisconsin Green Bay. The 5-foot-8 guard currently holds offers from Northern Illinois, Bradley, and South Dakota State in addition to Wisconsin Green Bay. Her play as of late has earned her an Elite Basketball Academy Super 64 Camp invitation on June 7-8, 2014. – Keil Moore

Walters Putting Up Numbers

Class of 2015 prospect Addison Walters, a 5-9 guard from San Francisco, Calif., is having a strong junior year at Saint Ignatius College Prep. She’s third on a very balanced team in scoring (7.3 ppg), second in field goal percentage (49%), lead the team in 3-point field goal percentage (45%) and second in free-throw percentage (77%) despite playing just 16 minutes per game as her 22-4 team has blown out a lot of teams this season. Her team begins the CIF open division playoffs this weekend. — Chris Hansen

Frese Checks Out Durr

Maryland coach Brenda Frese and assistant Tina Langley visited St. Pius X last night to watch class of 2015 guard Asia Durr of Douglasville, Ga. Frese and Langley stayed in Atlanta after playing Georgia Tech on Sunday afternoon. Durr, who is the No. 1 ranked junior in the country, has visited the staff in College Park, Md., and lists the Terrapins on her list short list of 12 schools. — Brandon Clay

Alabama Visits Triggs

Alabama coach Kristy Curry was in to see class of 2015 wing Jewel Triggs of Thibodeaux, La. Triggs visited Alabama-Birmingham earlier in the academic year and has established herself as one of the top prospects in the state. — Brandon Clay

Feb. 23th

Ortiz Shines on Senior Night

Gabrielle Ortiz of Mount Pleasant, Wisc., has established herself as one of the top senior point guards in the country. Ranked No. 41 overall in the PNELITE150, the 5-foot-6 general has already signed with Oklahoma. On Saturday night, Ortiz scored 29 points in the first half alone as her Prairie School team won big over conference rival St. Cats on TPS’ Senior Night. Ortiz finished with 34 putting on a show that rivals any that we’ve seen all school season long. - Brandon Clay

Feb. 21st

Boensch Will Sit A Year

Class of 2016 prospect Cassidy Boensch of Mich., will be ineligible to play high school varsity for a year after moving schools from Au Gres to Bangor John Glenn. It was originally believed that she would only have to sit for 30 days after the transfer but the state association rules. A 6-foot-3 center, Boensch was on the Associated Press Class D All-State Team after averaging 22 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocked shots per game as a freshman. — Brandon Clay

Konig Draws US Interest

University of Washington head coach Mike Neighbors was in British Columbia this week along with assistant Adia Barnes catching class of 2016 Brookswood guard Aislinn Konig. — Chris Hansen

Colorado Checks On Barrier

Class of 2016 wing Lexie Barrier of Ironton, Ohio had Colorado visit her high school this week. Barrier came on strong last club season playing with the West Virginia Thunder. -- Jonathan Hemingway

ACL Injury Sidelines Froling

Aussie prospect and SMU signee Keely Froling is out with a torn ACL. Froling recently had surgery on the torn knee. -- Keil Moore

Buckeyes Court Harris

Class of 2016 prospect Tyasha Harris of Indianapolis, Ind., has a new scholarship offer from Ohio State. The Heritage Christian sophomore is an ELITE 25 Watch List prospect in the class. — Brandon Clay

Feb. 12th

Romano Sees Corvallis

Class of 2015 prospect Alexa Romano of Albuquerque, N.M., visited Oregon State for their game versus Colorado on Saturday night. Romano is one of the more highly recruited wing players west of the Mississippi River in the junior class. — Chris Hansen

Feb. 11th

Mabrey Eligible to Play

Class of 2015 wing Marina Mabrey of Manasquan, N.J., played in her first high school game since transferring schools midseason from Point Pleasant Beach. Mabrey is now back on the floor at Manasquan where she played her freshman year. – Keil Moore

Stevens Is Available

Class of 2014 guard Ebone' Stevens of Kernersville, N.C., has new interest from Savannah State. She was committed to Gardner Webb before changing course in the fall. -- Brandon Clay

Feb. 9th

Colley Visits Pittsburgh

Class of 2014 point guard Shay Colley of Brampton, Ontario was on campus at Pittsburgh for their match up with Georgia Tech. Colley has narrowed her choices down to either Pittsburgh or Georgia Tech and is expected to make a decision here in the near future. -- Keil Moore

Rich Out for the Summer

Morgan Rich of Scottsville, Ky., is out with a torn ACL suffered last week. The class of 2015 point guard had emerged as an ELITE 100 caliber prospect with her play during the school season. — Brandon Clay

Feb. 6th

Out-Of-Region Schools Court Walker

Notre Dame, Penn State and Virginia are three of the out-of-region schools recruiting ELITE 25 caliber class of 2015 guard Destinee Walker of Ocoee, Fla. Currently the nation's No. 26 ranked prep, Walker is a legitimate four-star prospect at the shooting guard position.— Brandon Clay

Feb. 5th

Coaches Flock to Clovis

Danni Williams, the 2015 ELITE 60 guard from Clovis, NM, had several visitors out to see her play last week. She averaged 32 points per game over a five-game stretch, including a season high of 42 points against Trinity Christian. Arizona State, Kentucky, New Mexico, Oklahoma State, Stanford and Washington all came through, including UK head coach Matthew Mitchell. -- Chris Hansen

No Decision For Kalmer

Taylor Kalmer of Phoenix, Ariz., made a splash with her play at the Nike tournament of Champions in late-December. The 5-foot-8 class of 2015 point guard was rumored to be committed to Oregon but that rumor has been confirmed false. She's being recruited by NCAA Tournament programs nationwide since TOC ended. -- Keil Moore

Haines Has Visitors

Rice, Gonzaga, and San Diego State were all in yesterday to see class of 2015 combo guard Sabrina Haines of Phoenix, Ariz. We mentioned Haines in last month's Blog. She is one of the better perimeter prospects on the west coast in the class of 2015. -- Keil Moore

Feb. 2nd

Vanderbilt Hosts Boley

Erin Boley of Elizabethton, Ky., will visit Vanderbilt today for their game versus Texas A&M. The class of 2016 power forward has been on campus twice with an offer from the ‘Dores but never for a game. Boley has established herself as a potential five-star recruit in the sophomore class.-- Brandon Clay

Feb. 1st

Lopez-Flores Injured

Class of 2015 combo guard Faithaleen Lopze-Flores of Bothell, Wash., suffered a season ending knee injury this week. She has a torn anterior-cruciate ligament but the meniscus and other supporting ligaments were good. She will have surgery the first week of February. The sharpshooting junior at Jackson High School (Mill Creek, Wash.) was having a strong season. Her top schools of interest were all Ivy League schools. -- Chris Hansen
