Arguably the nation’s most athletic and explosive point in the class of 2020 has made her commitment. Texas native Sarah Andrews chose the reigning national champion, Baylor Lady Bears. In the process, Andrews made the decision to join her Pro Skills EYBL club teammate, Hannah Gusters to form a mean inside-outside combo in Waco.
Ranked as the No. 5 overall and No. 3 point guard in the ProspectsNation.com National Rankings, Andrews game has been on display for the past three years at the highest level. By the end of yet another elite summer, Andrews had offers and took official visits to Baylor, Florida State, Louisville, Mississippi State and Texas before deciding on the perennial Big 12 powerhouse as her future college home.
“Andrews has been competing at an elite level for years,” Chris Hansen, managing editor of ProspectsNation.com said. “She put on a show the very first time she came to one of our Check Me Out Showcase camps in San Antonio. She set the bar incredibly high for herself as an eighth grader and has continued to meet expectations each and every year we’ve worked with her and watched her on the circuit.”
I feel that both Sarah Andrews or Hailey Van Lith could help me win a major game now or in 2-3 years in the NCAA Tourney by having one of those special nights. Think Chloe Jackson, Kristi Toliver. Both Andrews and Van Lith have the moxy to pull that off. Van Lith was the real deal in Seattle last summer while I ran into Andrews on Saturday watching basketball at a JUCO event in Dallas. She’s a gym rat to the max. (ELITE 150 Mailbag: 2020 Edition-Oct. 14, 2020)
Ironically, Jackson made her presence felt last season as a graduate transfer for Kim Mulkey’s squad en route to winning the 2019 national title. Also, Van Lith visited Waco officially this weekend along with Andrews and is slated to make her decision in the coming weeks.
