Vitals

Name: Mary Triplett – Grad Year: 2017 Location: Nashville, Tenn. – School: Harpeth Hall Current Position: PG – Projected Position: PG

Strengths

Triplett is a skilled left-handed point guard who proved at the Elite Basketball Academy Fab Five Camp that she can facilitate the action. The 5-foot-3 guard also proved that, despite her height, she shoots it well enough to keep opposing defenders honest. Triplett’s shooting stroke is smooth as she knocked down open jump shot after jump shot. Between Harpeth Hall and her Lady Zoom club team, she plays with and against good competition year round. We’ve witnessed players with a schedule like Triplett’s in previous years only continue to get better as a result of the daily work. In the classroom, she already excels posting a 24 score on the ACT as a seventh grader and serving as the vice president of the freshman class.

Area To Improve

Triplett’s size, or lack thereof, is an area that she will have to account for in other aspects of her game. Becoming an elite ball handler and decision maker at the point guard position will be essential to achieving that goal. Triplett’s aforementioned academic prowess leads us to believe that she’ll put it in the necessary time and repetitions needed to make her one of the more skilled guards in her class in a loaded middle Tennessee region.

The Bottom Line

Triplett’s skill set at an early age is both impressive and noteworthy. Going forward, it will be worth college coaches charting her progress as a ball handler and distributor. She’ll be a consistent invite to Elite Basketball Academy events giving her a chance to showcase her development in various stages of her high school career. If Triplett can excel on the hardwood the way that she is off of it, the sky is the limit.
