Sydney Houlemard

Class of 2016 shooting guard Sydney Houlemard of Slidell, La., showcased her shooting skill at the Elite Basketball Academy All-American Camp in September 2014. Here is our breakdown on her game:

Strengths

Houlemard is a shooter capable of making shots from beyond the arc, in the midrange and around the rim. The 5-foot-8 off guard is a scorer in that way capable of making a basket when she has space or room to attack the lane. During a four-game stretch this high school season, the 3-star prep averaged 20 points per contest and was the local area player of the week. Houlemard is also quick enough to be a quality perimeter defender as well. She finds a way to get her hands on the basketball with deflections and steals.

Area To Improve

Going forward, Houlemard can continue to grow her game by working on the use of her off hand in the half court set. Right now, she excels using her right hand especially off of the bounce attacking the lane. At the next level, being able to score it comfortably with either hand would be an added benefit.

The Bottom Line

Houlemard is currently holding a 3.5 GPA in the classroom. Her ability to put the basketball in the basket makes her an intriguing prospect who colleges should keep an eye on this spring / summer season.
