FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Day 2 of the Real Deal in the ‘Ville Session I proved to be a busy for players and college coaches. Coaches from more than 70 colleges and universities packed the walls at Franklin Fieldhouse to take in the action. In the end only two teams would claim a championship; every team received the exposure they wanted this July. Here is a recap of who stood out on the big stage.

Alex Frazier (Lawrenceville, Ga.), - Georgia Hoopstars – 2015

The 5-foot-8 combo guard is a player on the move this summer. After leading her Hoopstars team to a championship in Georgia only two days ago, Frazier led her squad to another bracket championship in Tennessee. Her activity is not limited to traveling via the interstate; she is certainly active with her game as well. The strength of her game lays in her mid range pull-up jumper. Few players have her ability to create separation and rise up to score in the lane like she does. She is a playmaker who will create space for her teammates to hit open shots as well. It is this ability that allowed other players for coach JD Davis’s team to shine as well. She has already garnered interest from schools such as Charlotte, East Carolina and Stetson in recent months. However, look for her recruitment to pick up this fall, as more schools have been in to watch her this July.

FEATURE TEAM

Sky Diggs Elite Grennes

In a rematch in last year’s Real Deal in the ‘Ville championship game, coach Grennes’ team faced off versus Team Tennessee and Chassity Carter who is No. 13 in the ELITE 60. On Tuesday night Sky Diggs would hit on all cylinders and run away from the hometown team.

This Sky Diggs Elite squad received a strong shooting performance from 6-1 forward Emily Kmec of Carmel, Ind. The class of 2016 sharp shooter knocked down multiple 3-point jumpers in the win. The team’s biggest stock riser of the weekend had to be Jayla Scaife of Muncie, Ind., who also was big in the victory. She provided rebounding and athleticism in the lane, which gave space for the Sky Diggs’ shooters. Wing players 5-10 Maddy Grennes of Noblesville, Ind., and Haleigh Reinhoel of Westfield, Ind., also gave solid contributions by hitting shots and fulfilling their roles. Guards such as Abby Reeder of Westfield, Ind., Katelyn O’Reilly of Noblesville, Ind., and Daly Sullivan of South Bend, Ind., all played important roles in handling the ball and distributing the ball to their teammates.

This team should be one of the stronger teams in the Midwest for the next 12 months. Watch the championship game in the JLHemingwayPSB bracket here:

AROUND THE RIM

♦ The Baton Rouge Lady Tigers have a several talented prospects including class of 2015 wings Kiara Scott of Houma, La., and Jewel Triggs of Thibodeaux, La. Both wings possess good length and skill which translates well on both ends of the floor.

♦ Keep the Karras sisters from the Dayton Lady Hoopstars on your radar. Elea, who is a class of 2016 prospect, and Tia, who is in the class of 2017, are both skilled wing players who could be impact players in the future.

Andie Easley of Phoenix, Ariz., is an intriguing point guard in the class of 2015. At 5-10 she has above average length for the position. She handles the ball effectively for coach James Parker’s Team Miller.
