When I had a chance to sit and break down Stoops play from the spring / summer, she was productive in all facets of the game at the 16-and-Under level on the adidas Circuit. Stoops worked on her ability to read coverages in real time and made a couple of the best passes that I saw all season as a result. She is still shooting the basketball at a 180-club member clip (50 FGP / 40 3PFG / 90 FTP). That’s as important as any stat she’ll have as I view Stoops ability to be an efficient scoring threat as her next level calling card. On the defensive end of the floor, Stoops is a willing participant and made strides in that area as well this calendar year. Her game is clicking on all cylinders. Stoops will spend her freshman season as the lone underclass prospect on an IMG Academy National Team roster that features eight other prospects who all have multiple NCAA Tournament caliber Division One program offers. Expect Stoops game to flourish next spring because of being surrounded by that talent level all academic year. She was invited to the ABCD Camp in Portland, Oregon during October and is one of just three 2030 prospects nationwide who will do so. – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
Stoops has been the subject of multiple Brandon Clay College Scouting Database Evals during the 2025 calendar year. Her ability to score the basketball from the Point Guard spot was on full display during the adidas 3SSB Circuit as she finished third overall in the scoring category at the 15-and-Under level as a rising eighth grader. Stoops was selected First Team All-League at the end of the season. She got it done with a variety of 3-pointers, midrange jumpers and finishes at the rim. Passing wise, look for Stoops to keep blossoming with her reads as she grows. She's a willing passer who has the skill to make teammates better like Cade Cunningham is doing for the Detroit Pistons. I liken her growth to a young NFL Quarterback who improves on an annual basis through film study and offseason reps. Stoops is also more than willing to compete on the glass and defensive end. Though Stoops is a gifted prospect size wise at this age, it’s her work ethic and competitive nature that has served as a separator. After a training session in Fort Wayne this fall, Stoops stopped mid stride and asked what she can do to keep improving her game. It’s that type of curiosity for improvement that has attracted the eye of college coaches nationwide before Stoops ever plays a high school game. – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
Stoops game is growing in between each window that we see each other. That’s evident in her play on the floor. Her confidence level during gameplay was on full display inside Mojo Complex. She’s been locked in on attacking both left and right. There’s no doubt that Stoops will keep improving in that regard as well this spring. Sometimes, a quality evaluation from my desk has much less to do with what is happening on the hardwood as it does what is happening off it. Stoops is a high level basketball student. On Saturday, she knew that Southeast All Stars (Kate Harpring) and 7Days (Kaleena Smith) were playing in the 3SSBG Opening Day marquee matchup on April 25th before I did. She even sent a message to inform me. Stoops is that dialed in to what the elite guards in the classes ahead of her are doing. That’s special. -- Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
I love to breakdown film to get a feel for a player’s game. However in this case, I put my adidas on to actually hoop with Stoops and get a real time read on what I was seeing on video. Stoops biggest asset as a prospect right now is her ability to see plays unfolding in real time. When I had the ball at the Point Guard position, Stoops was able to read where the defender wasn’t repeatedly. If the defender tried to take away the backdoor or cut, Stoops would make that read as well and pop out for the 3-pointer. That shotmaking ability makes it’s tough for defenders to cover Stoops with one player. Going forward, I believe Stoops will be able to put people in spots the way I did with her during this session. – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
Stoops had not been with the Brandon Clay Training staff before Saturday. She’s got a chance to be one of the best that the region, if not country, has to offer in her class. Stoops ability to score the basketball is beyond her years with plenty of room to improve her craft. She has all the tools to be a true PG1 in the mold of current Overtime Select MVP and Southeast All Star, Kate Harpring. For now, Stoops can focus on her skill set attacking off of her right hand to finish right hand at the rim. She also has the skill needed to truly lead a team with her voice on both ends of the hardwood. -- Brandon Clay
