I’ve been on the floor with Cooley multiple times in the past 12 months. She is growing with each session. I noted in her overall evaluation that the skill set improvements she has made since then are noticeable. As it pertains to her outside shooting, Cooley is showing the signs of being a true spot up shot maker. Her mechanics and shooting motion are clean, crisp right now. She is a consistent option as far as incoming high school freshman go. She should be able to serve as a weapon in that regard early in her high school career. Keep an eye on Cooley locking in with a two-handed follow through to help with even better consistency. – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
Cooley’s game has rounded out nicely since last winter. Cooley's Film Room evaluation series will only grow in that way as she gets older. She enters high school prepared to play on any floor. Cooley has the skill set needed to be a consistent shot maker in that regard. I expect that her ability to make open shots will be a separator during her high school career. Cooley has learned to move without the basketball in her hands. Staying in motion off the ball will only aid in getting pitch and catch opportunities off Kenzie Koch’s drives during school season for Eastern Hancock. Look for Cooley to take another step in her game by becoming more vocal over the next 12 months too. – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
This was my first Film Room evaluation on Cooley. Right away, it’s clear that Cooley has a solid foundation. She also has a great example in front of her every day at school practice for the next two seasons in Kenzie Koch. It’s rare to get to work with someone as dedicated as Koch but not only is Cooley up for the challenge, I believe she’ll work just as hard. Cooley’s ability to make the open jumper is a perfect fit alongside Koch. For Cooley, growing as a basketball handler in the halfcourt should be a point of emphasis this off-season. She has a true skill set and will play hard on both ends of the floor already. Cooley’s willingness to be coached here by Xavier Johnson left an impact as well.
