Jana Lawson is a point guard who plays with a command of the floor that belies her years. Lawson pushes the ball in transition with her eyes up, consistently surveying the defense before the defense can set. Her footwork stands out in the half court, allowing her to get into her shooting pocket in a hurry and release with little wasted motion, a quick-trigger catch-and-shoot ability that makes her a threat despite not having great size. She shows real instincts off the ball too, finding soft spots in space when cutters clear out and showing patience to let plays develop. Lawson attacks both directions but leans on her right hand to finish, and continuing to develop comfort finishing with her left is the next step in rounding out her game. Her toughness and leadership presence are evident throughout.
