Whalen is a young prospect with a great foundation of fundamental skill. She displayed the ability to handle versus pressure and deliver the ball to open teammates at the right time. Her ability to keep her head up while on ball defenders tried to harass her is an important detail in her success as a handler and a passer. Whalen proved that she can be equally effective playing on the wing as well. Her high follow through and consistent shooting pocket lead to consistent results when spotting up from beyond the arc. The potential for her being a high percentage shooter at the high school level is quite great given her form. Whalen still has room to improve with the ball in her hands, especially as she climbs the ranks of tougher competition and quicker defenders. Learning how to change pace from slow to fast and fast to slow will greatly increase her ability to create space in the back court or to create shots for herself in the paint. -- Jonathan Hemingway
