Merkle has the frame that coaches look for in a post player at high levels. Her size and footwork allow her to impact around the bucket. She even showed some range on a pick and pop jumper that could give her game a bit of versatility. Maximizing her foot speed and agility, particularly when defending perimeter ball screens, should be a focal point for Merkle when heading into her final year on the summer circuit.
