Hotchkiss is a post player with length and a frame that should translate instantly to the next level. With as much size as she has, her frame still can fill out with strength after being a part of a regular college strength and conditioning program. She showed good feel for the game by finishing around the bucket in traffic. She plays tough in traffic and can finish off the move. Working on her agility and playing lower in a stance consistently should help her with her athleticism and explosiveness.
Hotchkiss has nice size on the interior. When she is being defended one-on-one, she’s been successful scoring with her back to basket. Seeing more physicality and urgency on the interior is a shift she can look to make over the next year or so. She made two sweeping skyhooks off the center of the lane that she capitalized on. That is a rare move to have in the arsenal. She can play on the block on both sides. Needs to be more physical. She can be a solid impact player if she continues to develop her game on the block and imposes her size defending the rim on the defensive end. She showed some patience when double teamed as well. She just needs more experience against higher levels of competition to find what works for her in these situations. She was very coachable and engaged with every bit of instruction at the camp.
