This was my first time breaking down film on Santimaw. She’s from Canada but attending high school in the States at Taft School in Connecticut. It’s evident right away that Santimaw possesses the length and feel for the game to play the game at the college level. Her biggest strength from my vantage point is her defensive versatility. That’s a rare quality in a high school aged perimeter prospect nowadays. Santimaw has the ability to guard on the inside or on the wing. She’ll look to jump passing lanes, get on the floor for loose basketballs and get to the glass to rebound. She looks to take a rebound and pitch the basketball ahead to a teammate without taking any unnecessary dribbles to do so. On offense, Santimaw has a chance to be a true shot making threat from beyond the arc. She should be a consistent threat to shoot the kickout 3-pointer off guards getting into the lane to play make. Santimaw doesn’t shy away from contact in the land and will also offensive rebound too. She is already a good shooter at the high school. A major key for Santimaw to capitalize on her full potential will be keeping the floor spaced at a 36 plus percent clip from beyond the arc. – Brandon Clay / @BrandonClayPSB
