BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- The Brandon Clay Scouting Tip-Off Classic saw some elite talent from across the Southeast competing in Birmingham during the first live period of the 2022 calendar year.

The No. 4 ranked junior nationally, Chloe Kitts of Oveido, Florida suited up for Southeast All Stars for the first time and put the whole country on notice that she’s a problem in the middle 1/3 of the floor. She can handle in the pick-and-roll or serve as the screener into an Iso, roll to rim or hit the open jumper for the All Stars as they rolled to a 4-0 record.

Kitts backcourt running mate for the All Stars, Diana Collins of Snellville, Georgia, went off as well showing the skill set to score at all three levels. Multiple Power 5 schools sent head coaches in to check on the former UGA commit.

Keep a close eye on the frontcourt for the Upward Stars 3SSB 2023 roster. They’re one of the biggest in the country with Hailey Chiles, Peighton Jambor and Riley Stack all standing 6-foot-2 or taller.

Kanija Daniel of Carrollton, Georgia, was a major factor in Porter Sports 2023 showing well all weekend. She’s a dynamic option especially in the transition game.

Lake City Pride has one of the premier backcourts in the region with Paris Guillory and Jermesha Frierson. Guillory has multiple offers while Frierson established herself as one to watch closely all spring/summer long.

In the frontcourt for LCP, A’Yiana Flemings battled with the best in the building. She has the size and mobility to make post moves to score or defend primary post scorers. Flemings earned the respect of some of the nation’s best with her play here.

Kyla Cain of Atlanta, Georgia had a fantastic weekend for the All Stars. Mercer and Troy both sat on multiple games. Cain’s outside shot and ability to make plays in transition are places where her game should blossom this summer.

Kendall Emener of Macon, Georgia, was a major factor on the glass. In a class that is light on true frontcourt prospects, Emener shines bright playing for the All Stars. She had multiple games with double digit rebounds while showing the touch to finish inside or facing the basket out to the 3-point line.

AROUND THE RIM

The Southeast All Stars 2023 class is loaded: Hannah Cail, Mataya Gayle, Allison Hoffman, Nylah Nuri, Lily Periera and Aniyah Scales are all poised to have major spring/summer campaigns. Collectively their rosters went 7-1 over the weekend.

We’ll see the Angels 2023 group again at Power 48 South next month in Atlanta. They found a nice rhythm as the weekend went on.

The same goes for the Team Nite Nite 2023 roster coached by Tessah Holt. They’ve been working together to find a smooth rhythm and it’s starting to show up at the perfect time.
