PALATINE, Ill. – The Chicagoland Showcase has become one of the Midwest’s premier events during the high school season. Here is a look at several upper-class prospects who caught our attention during the day.

Class of 2020 forward Halle Douglass of Lake Forest High School has been a staple of this event for most of her career. This year was different as the Wisconsin signee valiantly tried to lead her team to victory over a strong unit from Marist. Though they came up short, Douglass consistently made winning plays down the stretch.

Before Class of 2020 forward Angela Dugalic of Maine West High School heads off to Oregon, she was here to show her talents yet again. Dugalic has a smooth, methodical versatility that should serve her well the next four seasons in Eugene.

Sydney Affolter of Marist High School is one of the premier Class of 2021 prospects in the region. She’s back on the floor after a minor knee procedure sidelined her during the fall showcase season. Affolter made a big play late in the game to secure the victory for Marist.

Class of 2021 forward Kelby Bannerman of Hampshire High School has a frame and build that reminds me of current Oregon forward Erin Boley. She hit a couple of free throws here late to give her team a hard fought W.

Paige Hodgson of Beaver Dam High School came across the border from Wisconsin to solidify herself as a Class of 2021 prospect to keep an eye on. She can stretch the defense with her shooting but isn’t afraid of contact inside either.

Class of 2021 wing Mary Kate Fahey of Hersey High School is the type of player who helps teams win games. She’s capable of playing multiple positions and helping to handle the ball against pressure.

Fahey’s classmate and Hersey teammate, Mary McGrath, brings both length and versatility to the frontcourt. She runs the floor well in transition and finished several layups as a result of getting ahead of the pack.
