Davis Commits To Duke

Davis Commits To Duke
Marisa Davis

Marisa Davis of Surprise, Arizona, gave her verbal commitment to Duke on Monday.  The 6-foot-1 forward chose the Blue Devils over offers from Arizona, Cal, Colorado, Columbia and Utah, among others.

Davis is a long and explosive combo-forward with the ability to play either the wing or power forward position in college.  Her slashing and ability to get to the rim is translatable from 20 feet or catching in the pinch.  Her progress in shooting from behind the college arc will be key to unlocking her game.  Defensively she’s a problem as well as her quickness and length allow her to be disruptive against multiple positions on the floor.

Having worked with Davis in Texas and Nevada at the Check Me Out camp series, we know she’s extremely coachable as well.  This has led her to the 1,000 point milestone, to a State 6A player of the year selection, and twice the Southwest Region player of the year honor.

Davis is a four-star rated prospect by ProspectsNation.com and on a the Watch List for the ELITE 100 expansion coming this summer.  She is the first commit for Duke in the 2021 class.
