Monson Commits To Purdue
Emily Monson

Class of 2023 wing-forward Emily Monson of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, committed to Purdue on Sunday evening. She’s been on the West LaFayette, Indiana, campus multiple times. Monson will spend her club season getting ready for the next chapter as a member of the Southeast All Stars.

“I chose Purdue because of the program that Coach Katie (Geralds) is building," Monson said. "Even in the short time that she has been in charge, so much improvement has been made. They’re competing nightly with ranked teams, have multiple high level commitments in my class and are playing hard. The family atmosphere is crazy. I want to win, and I want to be around winners.”

Ranked as an ELITE 150 Watch List prospect, Monson has the skill set coupled with the athleticism to make a real impact for Katie Geralds Boilermaker program when she arrives on campus.

“I bring competitiveness, positive energy, and a strong work ethic everyday," Monson added.  "I also believe that my versatility to play the 2-4 on either end and even handle against pressure if need be can help me do whatever Coach Katie needs from me. I’ll play whatever position I need to for us to compete for titles.”

Monson, a 6-foot swing player joins 6-1 wing Mckenna Layden of Kokomo, Indiana, in the Boilermakers 2023 class.
