BUFORD, Georgia – The BrandonClayScouting.com All-American Showcase has become the place for prospects looking to get elite competition and media coverage going into the school season. With an alumni list that includes current WNBA standouts Lexie Brown, Kaela Davis, Diamond DeShields, Asia Durr and Jackie Young, the showcase has served as a gateway for the nation’s premier prospects to shine. Our latest look back is on the Class of 2021 standouts. All of them earned words by playing their style and competing in every drill over the weekend:

Cheesman is a versatile option in the frontcourt. She can score it from the outside in addition to finishing around the rim. Her academics are elite. Cheesman impressed me with her inside / outside play during the 2019 Final Four Weekend in Tampa. This setting was more of the same.

Carley Culberson

Indiana, Class of 2021

Culberson of Ind., trained with me during the 2018 Final Four Weekend in Columbus, Ohio. She’s back on the floor and looked like she hasn’t missed a beat despite an injury that sidelined her for most of the time in between those two sessions. Culberson is a gamer capable of making a play off the bounce.

Littleford of Charleston, Ill., was dynamic with her play. In a gym full of some of the game’s brightest stars, she was able to make her presence felt with her play. Her willingness to move the ball coupled with her ability to make an open shot give her a high upside long term.

One thing I know about OMG-TGE is that their crew works hard. Their dedication to development is second to none. Mills of Locust Grove, Ga., came in ready to rep that mindset to the fullest. She was as dialed in to the instruction as any camper on hand. For her, slowing down to truly take in the nuances of the game will only aid her growth.

Bailey Rucker

Kentucky, Class of 2021

The game appears to be simple for Rucker. Play solid defense on one end, come to the other and find an open shot to make. Rucker comes from a long line of talented guard prospects out of Boyd County. She very well might be the best long-range shooter of the bunch.

Malia Smith

Washington, Class of 2021

This was the second time in seven days that I had the chance to work with and evaluate Smith’s play. Hailing all the way from Seattle, Washington, the sharpshooting guard continues to impress with her skill set and understanding. As her confidence grows in elite setting, her game will blossom as a result.

Shelbi Smith

It had been a while since I had since Smith play. What I loved most about her game then has not changed at all and that’s the ability to be a consistent factor with her energy around the basket. Smith of Crossville, Tennessee is not afraid to mix it up on the interior.

Vantimmeren of Grand Rapids, Michigan was a pleasant surprise here at the showcase. A left-hand dominant prospect, she made the trek from up north to be a part of a loaded field managing to stand out herself. She has a national recruitment that matches her development given her play here. Keep an eye on her as a potential add to the Elite 100 national rankings.

Taylor Wilson

North Carolina, Class of 2021

Wilson of Statesville, North Carolina was a fantastic late addition to the showcase lineup. She brings a combination of athleticism and length to the guard position. In that regard, Wilson caught my eye in a major way with her well-rounded play on both ends of the floor here.
