Rees to Washington
Australia adds 2018 International post Darcy Rees

Late last week, Washington coach Jody Wynn and her staff received a verbal pledge from Darcy Rees a post prospect out of Australia. At 6-foot-3 Rees is a four-star prospect who will give the PAC-12 school a legitimate low-post presence. With most of the four-star prospects both nationally and internationally off the board, adding a player with the size and the potential that Rees possesses is a significant addition for Wynn and her staff.  With Rees pledged to Washington, she will join forwards Haley Van Dyke and Tyiona Watkins as members of Washington's 2018 recruiting class.

With the size to be effective around the rim and the mobility to fit in a free-flowing style of play, Rees is a good fit for Washington. Offensively, she is a threat to make a catch and shoot jumper and could be a dual threat as a roller or popper in ball-screen actions. While Rees has the ability to play with her back to the basket, she isn't a traditional block to block post and will be able to add versatility to Washington's frontline. As a member of Australia's 2017 U17 Oceanic championship, Rees has international playing experience and should be a factor in the selection process for future Australian national teams.
