Utah Gets Gytlen

Utah Gets Gytlen
Gytlen has picked Utah

After an official visit to the Pac-12 school, four-star prospect Dru Gytlen of Rapid City, South Dakota has committed to Utah coach Lynne Roberts and her staff.  The addition of Gytlen gives Utah their third verbal commitment in the 2017 class and a great head start on the road to signing day.

For Utah, Gytlen has the ability to play both on and off the ball.  The 5-foot-10 prospect was one of the hot names this summer as she proved that she could impact the game on both sides of the ball.  Offensively, Gytlen is a crafty playmaker who is willing to share the ball and create scoring opportunities for her teammates.  Defensively, she is a ball hawk, who uses her length and smarts to her advantage. Gytlen is one of those defenders who seems always to be at the right place at the right time.

The addition of Gytlen gives Utah a trio of talented guards in the 2017 class.  Gytlen will join Tori Williams of Boise, Idaho and Jordan Cruz of Sacramento, California, as members of Utah’s 2017 recruiting class.  With Williams ability to create her own shot and Cruz’s reputation as a knockdown perimeter shooter, Gytlen who is a playmaking guard should be able to fit in perfectly. With the talent coming on the perimeter, coach Roberts and her staff will now focus their attention on closing the deal with Jade Williams of The Colony, Texas.  Williams has been linked with the Pac-12 program for some time now, and her status as one of the elite players in the 2017 class would propel Utah’s already strong group into the elite recruiting classes in the country.
