Miller is a treat to coach. She’s a competitive guard option with a lot of tools, especially offensively. She’s gotten longer since we last saw her a year ago. Her jumper has stayed dialed in despite growing. If she adds strength to her 5-10 frame during the freshman campaign she’ll be a problem heading into the travel ball season. A year of playing against older high school competition is coming at the ideal time for her next phase of game development.
Miller is a young guard with blossoming skills. The thin-framed guard showed a smooth jumper from 3-point range and even hit one off her left-handed dribble. When Miller does not have the ball, she does an excellent job of moving off screens and into open spaces. Look for her game to expand as she grows and matures physically. There were times where she had a chance to burst past the defense for slashing lay-ins, but she currently lacks the explosiveness needed to do so.

Miller came in focused from the opening drill. Her attention to detail as a middle schooler sets the stage for Miller to be a kid in our pipeline for years to come. She can apply pressure to defenders by making shots with her feet set or attacking downhill off the catch and go. In that regard, Miller has the skill set needed so as her body keeps filling out she’ll be able to complete the plays that she is seeing right now.
Miller looks to become a consummate point guard. She is a great in-game offensive player. She seems to have all the intangibles already, which is special for a young kid who is just getting experience as a middle school player. She talks and communicates within the flow of the game. She also does a good job of making the extra pass and keeping the offense alive. We also took note of how well she fed the post. This is a skill that many high school players still have trouble perfecting. When so many kids are looking only to shoot, Miller seems to understand how to play the game. That said she is a solid knockdown shooter. She can hit 3-pointers with space. Coming out of this camp, Miller should focus on keeping her dribble lower. This one simple skill will help her protect the ball from quicker defenders.
